Danvers Community Council
The Danvers Community Council was established in the early 1950s and continues today. The Council meets regularly and works together with local agency representatives, town government leaders and local business people to help Danvers residents in need without duplicating efforts.

When emergency assistance is needed, the Council refers to available resources, or in some cases, helps directly.

The Danvers Community Council is a not-for-profit charitable organization. It is supported by the town of Danvers, local businesses and service organizations, and the generosity of Danvers residents. The Council also works cooperatively with the town's Social Service Department.
How You Can Help
The Pantry is open for shopping on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 am-noon and the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month 4-6 pm.

We are accepting donations of food and any financial support offered. It is most appreciated, especially as we come into the fall and winter months.
​
Some of our most needed items are; paper products, brand name cereals and snacks for kids, jarred tomato sauce and graham crackers. No Salt, Low Sugar and Gluten Free items are always needed.
​
As always we ask that you make sure the food you donate is in date. It saves a lot of time for us when stocking and sorting.
Students looking to get Community Service Hours can contact the Pantry 978-739-4188, and ask about the Ambassador Program. It is a make your own hours offering as individuals, groups and/or teams. Several of the Danvers Women’s Soccer Team has just made a great donation and earned hours quickly.

The People to People Food Pantry is a member of the Greater Boston Food Bank, which allows us to buy food and other necessities for an average of $.35 cents on the dollar. Therefore, your $1 donation will buy about $3 worth of food. As a volunteer organization, 100% of your money goes to meeting the needs of the residents of Danvers; young, old, children and families.

In The News
The Danvers Senior Center is looking for experienced bus drivers for daytime hours 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Training for disability awareness and defensive driving will be provided. Clean CORI and driving record necessary and the ability to work well with the Senior population is a must.
Many thanks to Cherry Farm Creamery and their loyal customers who recently held / participated in the annual “Ice Cream for Breakfast” fundraising event. Proceeds of the event exceeding $3,600 were donated to the People to People Food Pantry. The donation is more than appreciated by the DCC along with the Volunteers and Clients of the Pantry!!!
