In response to community need, the Danvers People to People Food Pantry was created by the Danvers Community Council to help Danvers families needing assistance. The pantry is operated by a team of volunteers who are dedicated to community service. These volunteers collect food, stock shelves, interview clients as well as shop, distribute and deliver food. Eligible clients may visit the pantry twice a month.
Thanks to everyone who helped with the school supplies for our Back to School Backpack Program. We assisted 90+ families and we couldn’t even sharpen our pencil without you!
Stop & Shop is a great community partner providing financial support and donating food on a regular basis to the Pantry. Our thanks to Danvers Store Manager, Pat Hickey and his staff; Erica Bomba, Dave Kawiecki, Adam Bushway and Bob Medeiros (pictured Left to Right) for their generosity and hard work.
The People to People Food Pantry is asking for $15 Gift Card donations to Market Basket or Stop & Shop for our ThanksGiving Turkey drive. This change was made last year because we do not have enough space in our refrigerators to store so many birds, and the gift card allows our shoppers to buy to meet their dietary needs. If you would like to buy a gift card for donation, you can drop them off at the Pantry 12 Sylvan Street or Senior Center 25 Stone Street.
As the Holiday Season approaches, the Pantry will also be looking for folks who want to sponsor a child. We will be providing gifts for young children and $50 (or $25) Target gift cards for high school aged kids. Call the Pantry to sign up to help our families in need this Christmas – (978)739-4188.
Please note the Pantry will be CLOSED ThanksGiving Week and the Week between Christmas and New Year. Any time schools are closed for snow, the Pantry will be closed. Call ahead to be sure we are open on snow days or any Mondays that may be Holidays.
Families in need register at the pantry. Proper identification and proof of residency are required at each visit when signing in. A piece of mail such as an electric bill is necessary. A driver's license is not acceptable as proof of residency.
Nonresidents, please refer to our links page to find a pantry in your town as well as other North Shore resources which may be available for you.

When supplies are low, food is purchased from local supporting merchants and the Greater Boston Food Bank. Many of our clients have special nutritional requirements. We always need LOW FAT, LOW SODIUM, or LOW SUGAR food items. We also appreciate donations of clean re-usable shopping bags and unopened personal toiletries.
Cash donations (checks) can be mailed to PO Box 2076, Danvers MA 01923)
